Hate to
do documentation on software that has already been superseded by a new version, but in this case I have to do it for documentation purposes – so here goes…
Open Outlook. Since Micro$oft assumes that you have purchased Office 2003, (I hope you have) in thanksgiving it shows you an additional two screens of blah. The first one welcomes you and the second one actually asks you whether you want to configure an email account and gives you the option to say no!! Well I suppose thats what we paid all that moolah for, so click Yes and Next. BTW, If this is the first time you ran Outlook, this wizard should pop up automatically. If he didn’t, you can wake the no good bum up from Tools > Email Accounts > Add a New e-Mail Account. From the wizard…

Select POP3 from the type of Server list and click Next

Fill in your details as shown. Next Click on the more Settings Button.
You can also choose whether you want to let Outlook remember your password by checking the check box below the password field. I’m lazy, so I always check it.
In this case both the mail servers are the same – mail.eha-health.org, for some other account the POP3 & SMTP servers could be different . Likewise in some cases, such as in setting up an email address given to you by your ISP, you may need to enter only a part of your email address as the user name, i.e. -the part before the @ sign.

Under More Settings, make sure your selection resembles the above and Click OK & click the appropriate buttons to complete the account setup and quit the wizard.
The Next few steps are exclusively for EHA users as return receipts are interpreted as spam by our smtp server. Not following the steps outlined below, will ensure that your outgoing email is blocked by invisible return receipts cooling their heels in the Outbox which can be a veritable nightmare. (For me
)

Click on Tools > Options

On the Prerences Tab, click on Email Options

Next, Click on Tracking Options

Under Read Receipts, (towards the end), click on Never send a response and click OK
Thats it dude! You are all set to go, you can now send a test email full of gibberish to someone you don’t like -you can always claim that you were testing your new account! ;P
